Congratulations! You qualify for the Interview Waiver. You will need to schedule an appointment to visit a document drop-off location to submit your documents, but you do not need to schedule a visa interview at the U.S. Embassy/Consulate.
Click “Drop-Off” to proceed with your Interview Waiver application.
If you believe your travel is urgent and the first available date to schedule a document drop-off appointment is beyond your desired travel date, you will need a regular in-person visa interview appointment. You can schedule a regular in-person Interview appointment at the Embassy or a Consulate by first scheduling your biometric appointment at an OFC and then an Embassy/Consulate appointment to be able to request an emergency appointment.
To verify if you qualify for an emergency appointment, click “Interview” to check the qualification criteria and proceed. Drop-Off Interview

Navigating the visa application journey becomes easier with your guidance on interview waivers. An indispensable reference for anyone looking to streamline the process.
The U.S. Visa Interview Waiver Program, also known as the “dropbox” program, allows certain applicants to renew their visas without attending a visa interview at the U.S. embassy or consulate. This program is designed to streamline the visa renewal process for individuals who meet specific criteria, such as having previously been approved for a visa, meeting age requirements, and meeting other eligibility criteria set by the U.S. Department of State.
It’s important to note that not all applicants are eligible for the Interview Waiver Program, and eligibility criteria may vary depending on the country and type of visa being sought. Additionally, even if eligible, there is no guarantee that an applicant will be approved for visa renewal without an interview. The consulate or embassy reserves the right to require an in-person interview if they believe it is necessary for further assessment.
Overall, the Interview Waiver Program can be a convenient option for individuals who meet the requirements, as it can save time and effort associated with attending a visa interview. However, applicants should carefully review the specific eligibility criteria and guidelines provided by the U.S. embassy or consulate in their respective country before opting for this program. Additionally, it’s advisable to stay updated on any changes or updates to the program, as policies and procedures may evolve over time.
