Over hundreds appear entrance exam for B Ed at TC College, Kpi

KANGPOKPI, Jun 23: Altogether 125 students appeared the entrance examination for admission to Bachelors of Education course 2019-2020 at TC College of Teacher’s Education and Bachelors of Social Work, Kangpokpi, yesterday.
According to the college authority, more than 140 students applied for entrance exam but only 125 students appeared the examination for a seat intake of 100 students including 16 Government nominees.
Information regarding the result of the entrance examination can be had from the college, said our correspondent.
Situated at Ward No. 14, Kangpokpi District Headquarters, TC College of Teacher’s Education and Bachelors of Social Work is the first ever Government recognized college to pursue B.Ed and BSW in the district.
Recognized by National Council for Teacher Education, a statutory body of Government of India and affiliated under Manipur Central University, Canchipur, Imphal has approved 100 students intake for its first academic session, which will begin this year.
Tongkhohao Kipgen, founder of TC College of Teacher’s Education and Bachelors of Social Work, Kangpokpi said that in the present era where a degree of B Tech and MBBS are mostly encouraged by the society, the students rarely get to hear about other outstanding courses like B Ed.
The college was set up to provide necessary skills to the students to excel in the teaching profession, he said adding that the grievances and hardships of thousand of people living in the hilly region in pursuing B Ed was also considered while setting up the college.
