CAT 2019 online application process is going on at present on iimcat.ac.in. CAT is the mandatory qualifying examination for admission to top management institutes of the country – Indian Institute of Management or IIMs. Every year about 2 lakh candidates appear for the Common Admission Test, CAT examination for a chance to get a set in one of the IIMs. There are a total of 20 IIMs. The fee structure for all vary depending on the individual criteria as set by the IIMs.

Given the high fees, many experts counter that the ROI or return on investment for IIMs is rather low. With an average package of about 12 – 16 lakhs per annum for most of the top IIMs, the ROI is relatively on the lower side in comparison to the university run MBA colleges. Some other top private MBA colleges have a better ROI as compared to the IIMs.
What is important to note, however, is that the top packages of tier 2 MBA colleges would match to average packages for the IIMs. Also, the quality of education as well as the job opportunities that IIMs promise cannot be compared as such to the other colleges.
