If a candidate doesn’t pass the INBDE on the first try, they can attempt the exam up to five times. After each unsuccessful attempt, there’s a mandatory 60-day waiting period, and no more than four attempts are allowed within a year. If someone fails three times, they must wait a full year before trying again. After the fifth attempt, retakes are limited to once per year. These rules are in place to give candidates enough time to prepare while maintaining a fair and consistent testing process.
