The JEE Main exam mainly tests students in three subjects: Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics. The exam is designed to check conceptual understanding, numerical solving ability, speed, and accuracy. In Mathematics, students should first focus on foundational chapters such as Sets, Relations and Functions, Quadratic Equations, Trigonometry, Sequence and Series, and Coordinate Geometry. Mathematics becomes easier with consistent practice and formula revision.
The exam pattern usually gives equal importance to all three subjects, so students should avoid ignoring any section. Time management is also very important because solving speed plays a major role in scoring well.
A good strategy for beginners is to first complete easier and high-weightage chapters, revise regularly, solve previous year questions, and slowly move toward advanced-level practice. Understanding concepts deeply is much more important than memorizing shortcuts in the early stage of preparation.
