For admission into JEE Main, candidates must meet some basic eligibility conditions related to education, age, and attempt rules. A student should have passed or be appearing in Class 12 (or equivalent) with Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics as compulsory subjects for B.E./B.Tech papers. There is no age limit for JEE Main, so students of any age can apply as long as they meet the academic requirement. Also, there is generally no minimum percentage required just to appear for the exam, but for admission into NITs, IIITs, and GFTIs, students usually need at least 75% marks in Class 12 (or be in the top 20 percentile of their board). Candidates can attempt the exam for three consecutive years, with two sessions each year, starting from the year they pass Class 12. Along with this, Indian citizens, NRIs, OCIs, PIOs, and foreign nationals are also eligible as per official guidelines. Before applying, students should always check the latest official notification from the NTA website, as rules and admission criteria may be updated each year.
