The Delhi High Court has issued notice \nin a plea seeking to quash the results of the National Eligibility Cum \nEntrance Test (UG) 2019 (NEET-UG 2019) which was declared on June 5.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The notice was issued by a Single Judge Bench of Justice Jayant Nath<\/strong>\n to the Central Government, Medical Council of India, National Testing \nAgency (NTA) as well as the Dental Council of India in a petition by \nseveral NEET-UG candidates.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The petitioners approached the High \nCourt after discovering that the NTA had not identified and marked the \ncorrect options of answers in the answer key issued by them for NEET-UG \n2019.<\/p>\n\n\n\n It was also observed that three \nquestions had two correct options which was against the information \nmemorandum issued by the NTA as there could be just one right answer to a\n question.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Petitioners submit that they had \nmarked the correct options in the answer sheets which did not correspond\n to the answer key issued by the NTA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Thus, if the answer key issued by NTA \nhas wrong reflections for right options or more than one correct option,\n the entire process of selection and fixing the merit becomes unfair and\n leads to serious violation of their legal as well as fundamental \nrights, the Petitioners state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The Petitioners thus \u201cfeel\u201d that if the \nresult of NEET-UG was declared as per the correct answer and correct \nprovisions, their rank in the merit list would improve substantially.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Stressing on the importance of clear and unambiguous questions, it is further submitted,<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cIn such a tough\n competition every mark would have a critical bearing on the rank of the\n candidate and thus would affect his or her choice of college and \nadmission.
