VIJAYAWADA: Two boys from Krishna \ndistrict topped various categories of the JEE Advanced 2019, the results\n of which were announced on Friday. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Across the country, a total of 1,61,319 candidates have appeared for the JEE (Advanced) 2019 and 38,705 candidates cleared it. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
From Andhra Pradesh, around 13,000 candidates have appeared for the examination.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Seventeen-year-old D Chandrasekhar from Vijayawada secured the first rank in JEE Advanced 2019 in General-EWS Category.<\/ins><\/p>\n\n\n\n In the open category, he secured 23rd \nrank. Similarly, Dasari Rajesh of Krishna district secured the first \nrank in General-EWS-PWD category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chandrasekhar is eyeing a Computer Science Engineering seat in IIT Bombay from his schooling days.<\/p>\n\n\n\n His father is a homoeopathic doctor.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n Chandrasekhar stayed away from social \nmedia during his preparation, which went on for more than 12 hours a \nday. He secured 33rd rank in JEE Mains and 4th rank in AP EAMCET and \nsecond rank in Telangana EAMCET.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Speaking to TNIE, D Manohar Prasad, \nfather of Chandrasekhar, said, \u201cMy son studied his intermediate in \nHyderabad. He was suffering from high fever while appearing for the \nexamination. We are very happy with his success and all his hard work \nand preparation paid off .\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Another student Dasari Rajesh, despite \nhaving an eye problem, studied for about 10 hours a day. He stayed away \nfrom family and studied in a hostel. <\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cI joined the hostel only to stay away \nfrom phone calls and other activities. My father is a small-time farmer \nand my mother is a housewife. Right from my childhood, I have struggled a\n lot, but I always wanted to secure an admission in an IIT.<\/p>\n\n\n\n With my eye problem, I can only study up to 10 hours. However, with the support of my college faculty and family, I pursued my dream,\u201d a happy Rajesh said.
