For engineers who are bored of being bored at office, can go for this course. VTU is offering part time MTech for working people. There are two schemes through which you can get admitted to one of the below colleges to pursue MTech while working. This course is much better than MSc offered by many companies from the university like BITS, Pilani, in terms of syllabus and laboratory work which you get to study. First scheme to get the admission is QIP (Quality improvement Program), which is more likely designed for engineering college lecturers. Total number of seats available under QIP scheme per college is 25. Out of 25 seats, most of the seats are reserved for Engineering college lectures, few for Diploma college lecturers and remaining for industry people and I really do not know the intention behind this system. To get the seat under this scheme you have to get eligible in the entrance conducted by colleges. Syllabus for the entrance will be usually engineering core subjects and which will be more likely objective and not descriptive.Second scheme is PT (QIP). You have to write PGCET conducted by VTU to get seat. There are very less seats allotted under this scheme, so it’s important to prepare correctly for exam unlike engineering exams. As per my knowledge there will be 15 seats per college under this scheme.
